Charlene C. Chow, LMHC, MPH
HistoryAfter training in various settings and health systems, I realized I wanted to provide a level of care that other agencies have not seemed able to sustain on a large-scale basis. Opening this practice gave me the freedom to foster a truly safe, healthy, and welcoming clinical atmosphere where I can consistently and fully support the needs of my clients. I believe the therapeutic relationship should belong to the therapist and client, without interference from bureaucracy, managed care, or other third parties. This practice promises that I work for my client and with my client only, and ensures that my standards for quality of care, compassion, and healthy outcomes remain uncompromised throughout.SpecialtiesAre you hoping to better manage your mood or anxiety, comorbid or chronic medical conditions, health habits, relationships, or various cultural or life changes? I am passionate about collaborating with adults who are looking for support around boundary-setting, coping skills-building, acceptance, self-actualization, goal attainment, conflict resolution, and overcoming life's challenges - mental, emotional, and physical. I work primarily with individuals but also have experience with groups, couples, crisis intervention, and addictions. Adults of all ages are welcome, regardless of racial identity, gender, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or other history or life experience. I may come from a pre-medical background but I have an equally strong belief in the holistic mind-body connection. For those interested, we may also utilize expressive arts to enhance the transformative power of creativity in mind-body healing. Many of my clients have benefited from art- or music-informed therapy, and I am always happy to invite creativity into sessions as gently or boldly as fits one's needs.
