The Early Intervention Program, operated by The Professional Center for Child Development, is a nonprofit, community-based agency. The program serves children suffering with physical, emotional and intellectual disabilities. It provides evaluations, home visits, group counseling, support and transition services. The Early Intervention Program employs ongoing parent support groups who offer assistance to families and their children with Down syndrome, autism, and medical or health care needs. The program operates a preschool that provides coordinated educational, therapeutic, social and referral services to children and their families. It offers consultation services through ay care facilities and early intervention and community programs. Located in Lawrence, Mass., the Early Intervention Program s staff members include educators, therapists, and speech and language pathologists.
