Powers Music School, located in Belmont, Mass., is a regional, nonprofit institution, providing musical instruction and performance programs to students of all ages. It provides a wide range of music education programs, a nurturing and talented faculty, and outreach programs. The school provides a variety of musical outreach programs in the community, such as the Joseph Stein chamber music festival, Belmont open sings, Mildred P. Freiberg piano festival, and faculty concerts. Powers Music School has various departments, such as brass, early music, ensemble and music, keys for kids, music therapy, percussion, piano, voice and woodwinds. It provides music education to more than 800 students from it five building locations. The school was established in 1964 as a program of the Belmont Community Center. Powers Music School is a member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts.
