Dalhousie Lodge F.&A.M. was established in 1860 in Newton, Masachusetts. Named after the Lord Ramsay, Earl of Dalhousie of Scotland, the Lodge follows many Scottish traditions, both Masonic and cultural. Dubbed "The Friendly Lodge" many years ago, like most all Masonic Lodges Dalhousie prides itself on being a warm and welcoming oasis for its Brethren and guests. It shares a beautiful and spacious Masonic building with several other Masonic Lodges and bodies at the corner of Walnut Street and Newtonville Avenue. The building was erected at the close of the 19th century and stands at the corner of Walnut and Newtonville Avenue, an icon of the Newton landscape. Dalhousie Lodge holds many fellowship and charitable events and participates in the events of Massachusetts Freemasonry and its Masonic District. The Lodge has a rich history which may be found on their website. Dalhousie Lodge meets the first and second Wednesdays of each month except July and August.
