Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering is a private undergraduate engineering college located in Needham, Mass. It provides an interdisciplinary and project-based curriculum with emphasis on entrepreneurship, engineering, and liberal arts and science. The college was established in 1997, and it provides majors in general, electrical, computer and mechanical engineering. The general engineering program provides courses in various subjects, including computing, bioengineering, materials science and systems design. It additionally provides courses in various other subjects, such as calculus, physics, arts, humanities and social sciences. It also offers various extracurricular activities, sports programs and clubs, such as orchestra, writing, visual arts, music, theater, film and martial arts clubs. The college is approved by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
