Notus Clean Energy wind turbine project was completed and activated on July 28, 2010 and well-supported by the citizens of the town of Falmouth. High on the hill in Falmouth's Technology Park, this new landmark turbine has a capacity of 1.65 million watts and is able to power just over 500 homes with clean energy.
Grant support was provided by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and the United States Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Cool fact: Notus is the Greek god of the southwest wind, the prevailing summer wind on Cape Cod--which is exactly where this modern windmill is located!
