Neighborhood House Charter School is a publicly funded and independently managed elementary and middle school that provides academic education to children in pre-kindergarten through grade eight. The school has an annual enrollment of more than 400 students between the ages of 4 and 14. Founded in 1994, it also offers individualized learning programs for students with learning, physical, social and emotional challenges. Neighborhood House Charter School is accredited through the Massachusetts Department of Education Charter School Office. Its academic curriculum includes reading, writing, math, science, social studies, visual arts, music, technology, physical education and Spanish. The school supports after-school, high school placement, and summer and recreation programs. Neighborhood House Charter School has a parent center staffed by a licensed social worker to advocate and counsel students and families. It is located in Dorchester, Mass.
