It also offers rubbish disposal and recycling services for computer items, glass, metal and plastic containers, paper, cardboard, and yard waste. Additionally, the department provides disposal services for soft mattress and box springs, wooden filing cabinets, chairs, small sofas, carpets, washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators, air conditioners and dehumidifiers. Cambridge Public Works cemetery division organizes gravesite preparation and other burial services. The department issues appliance stickers, permission for commemorative tree planting, commercial garbage pickup, composting bins, newsrack fees, permits, and photocopies of maps and other documents.
