The Merrimack Valley Nutrition Project has been serving hot meals to elderly clients throughout the region for more than 35 years. Through a variety of "subcontractors" like local Councils on Aging and other charitable nonprofits, the program serves nearly 1,800 meals daily throughout the Merrimack Valley. The program staffs professional nutritionists to plan healthy meals for senior citizens. All meals provide "one-third of the recommended dietary allowance" and conform to state Department of Elderly Affairs nutrition standards. The Merrimack Valley Nutrition Project is housed within the walls of the Greater Lawrence Technical High School on River Road and is conveniently located near Interstates 93 and 495 for easy access to their regional clients.
