Originally when Lincoln Elementary School was first built back in 1903 it housed Winchester's high school students. After that, it was converted to the middle school, but now the building is home to elementary students ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade. Because it was originally the town's high school, Lincoln has a number of facilities that other elementary schools lack. There are separate art and music rooms, a full-sized gymnasium, along with a student dining hall and an auditorium. The school environment is one that supports risk-takers, while encouraging students to be actively involved in learning. Along with the regular school programs, Lincoln has the services of a school psychologist/counselor, resource room personnel, reading specialist and a speech and language specialist.
