Located in Chicopee, Mass., Valley Opportunity Council represents a network of community service specialists dedicated to providing various support services for low- and moderate-income families in the Greater Hampden County area. It offers a wide range of services, including senior and housing services, child care, youth programs, transportation, nutrition and education services, and health and energy services. The council operates more than 70 family and child care homes to assist parents who are working. It also provides a complete education program, meals and allows parent involvement in the program. Valley Opportunity Council participates in the Department of Education s summer food service program to assist low-income families in meeting their nutritional needs throughout the year.
