The Lanna Thai Diner opened eight years ago. They purchased the old diner car originally owned by Main Street Diner. This small restaurant is only about 100 square feet, has three dining tables and a few bar stools. Lanna Thai may be small but the cooking is far from it. The authentic and traditional Thai recipes fill both dishes and happy customer's stomachs. Lanna Thai has a lunch and dinner menu and the change occurs at 3p.m. daily.
The menu offers appetizers such as Shumai (dumplings) and Gyoza (steamed or fried battered vegetable), salads made of lemon grass, seaweed and mint, soups with chicken broth and coconut milk base, entrees that appeal to both vegetarians and carnivores and traditional desserts like the Khao Niao Ma Muang, which is sticky rice topped with coconut and mango. Diners can wash down their food with Ginger or Green hot and iced teas. Lanna Thai uses no MSG in their cooking. Tofu and vegan options are available.
