History
The first Harvard Bartending course in 1964 was planned as a platform for helping Harvard students find jobs as bartenders. This course would be very similar to our current 'Art of Mixology' class, however, this course was open twice a month for 90-120 people, and featured a 'final exam' where students would form a circle and mix drinks for the person to their right. Unfortunately, legislation has since tightened and we cannot feature this exam! Today, the Harvard Bartending Course continues the mission it was founded on by certifying Harvard students and helping them find jobs as bartenders. Additionally, however, we seek to help members of the Cambridge and Boston community become bartenders. We also teach those who want to learn more about flavors and cocktail making in our 'Art of Mixology' course.
Specialties
Harvard Bartending Course and Services has offered mixology courses in the greater Boston area for over 50 years. We offer 3 premiere bartending courses. The first is a TIPS Certification course which emphasizes safe serving and certifies participants to serve alcohol in Massachusetts. The second, our historic 'Art of Mixology' course, will prepare you to understand the intuition behind why flavors work well together, all while mixing popular drinks. Finally, our Deluxe course combines our TIPS and Art of Mixology courses. In one day, you will become a master mixologist, prepared to work in the industry or impress your friends and family.
