Founded in 2005, the firm has a technical staff of seven LEED-accredited professionals. We see sustainability as a core goal shared by all design team members and stakeholders. We practice Integrative Design, a whole system approach which looks at diverse connections in buildings and explores their inter-relationships. Our practice uses tools, such as energy and daylight modeling and life-cycle assessment of materials, to analyze performance and inform our decision making. To date, we have managed more than 40 LEED projects in New England. Ten are completed and US Green Building Council ( USGBC ) certified ; more than 30 are pending. The Green Engineer founder, Chris_Schaffner, _P.E., _LEED_AP is a professional mechanical engineer, registered in Massachusetts, California, and Vermont. Chris has 22 years of experience in the design of building systems. Chris has been a member of the USGBC faculty since 2001, training more than 9, 000 building industry professionals in the LEED rating system. He is a member of the USGBC's Curriculum Committee, and is on the LEED Indoor Environmental Quality Technical Advisory Group ( TAG ). Green Engineer, LLP is a member of the US Green Building Council, an Energy Star Partner, a LABS21 Supporter and is committed to implementing the Architecture 2030 Challenge.
