This 527-acre park is among the largest open spaces in Boston. It is part of the Frederick Law Olmsted's Emerald Necklace of parks. The park has miles of walking paths, a cross country course, tennis courts, baseball fields and, oddly, stone ruins. It is also home to an 18-hole public golf course and the Franklin Park Zoo. Here is an interactive map of the park's many features.
For public transportation: From the Orange line exit at Green Street or Forest Hills stations or take the 16 bus, which goes through the center of the park.
