Forest Hills Cemetery is one of the most historic burial grounds in the United States. Established in 1848, it is a historic site with 275-acre green space and arboretum and having an open-air museum. Forest Hills Cemetery has meandering paths, scenic vistas and a small lake. It has created the Forest Hills Educational Trust in 1991 to raise funds for educational programs, preservation projects, contemporary sculpture exhibitions and community events. Forest Hills Cemetery offers burial plots, fern hill, an outdoor cremation garden and indoor niches in the Columbarium Chapels. On its ground there are three chapels: Lucy Stone Chapel, Pitman Chapel and Forsyth Chapel.
