First Baptist Church was established in a small schoolhouse in 1854 and has since expanded to include a chapel, lounge, library and nursery, along with 11 classrooms. The Rev. Debora Jackson and the lay ministry worship leader guide services each Sunday at 10am. Childcare is available. The church welcomes and creates outreach programs in the hope of building awareness in American Baptist beliefs. First Baptist also sponsors several missionary trips, including work with the Murrow Indian Children's Home in Muskogee, OK. The church is also home to the First Baptist Church Nursery School, established in 1967.
