The Falmouth Historical Society Museums on the Green, located on the Falmouth Village Green, includes a 1790 Federal period home built by Doctor Francis Wicks, a leading pioneer in smallpox vaccinations. A Visitor Center and special exhibition space is located in the reconstructed 19th century Hallett Barn, additional exhibition space and the Whaling Wives gift shop is located in the 1730 half cape Conant House. 2011 exhibits include Falmouth in the Civil War, Railroads and Steamers, Falmouth’s Whaling Past and The Poetry of Katharine Lee Bates. On display are artifacts, textiles and an interesting piece of Falmouth's history. Tours of the Doctor Francis Wicks House are available Tues. – Sat. at 11 am, June through October.
