History
The historic carpenter-gothic building was built in 1877 as a neighborhood meeting house. Originally home to religious services, political meetings, theater, and events, over the years the property changed hands. In the 1950s it was purchased by The Church of Christ, Scientist. Half a decade later, in 2012, the property was purchased and held for the Rocky Neck Art Colony by members Steve and Kathy Archer. RNAC began a capital campaign to purchase the building, and completed their goal just two years later in 2014 - this rapid success was thanks to grant funding and a large, generous group of local donors.
