Located in the village of Newton Highlands, Countryside Elementary School is the largest of 15 public elementary schools in Newton with more than 500 students. While Countryside's curriculum follows that of the other elementary schools in the city, it also takes pride in its Responsive Classroom structure. This structure includes a morning meeting, family involvement, and positive teacher communication.
Administrators and teachers at Countryside take pride in its thriving, collaborative and dynamic community that is committed to the success of students. They look to help them develop as problem solvers, effective communicators and well-informed, responsible citizens. The school is lead by Principal Dr. Emily Ostrower.
Countryside Elementary School is less than a mile from the Newton Highlands MBTA stop (green line, D branch), and about a half mile away, the #52 MBTA bus stops at the intersection of Parker and Dedham streets.
