The Lakota Bakery specializes in freshly baked, handmade, all-butter cookies. Cookies have been their specialty since owner Barbara Weniger started the bakery in 1991. The folks at Lakota are careful to point out that none of their cookies are truly "nut free." So, if you have nut allergies, unfortunately, you cannot enjoy their cookies. They are proud to be able to say that The Boston Globe proclaimed "Lakota Bakery's cookies make everyone happy." They also baked the cake for Barack Obama's birthday in 2008.
