Comrex has designed and manufactured broadcast equipment since it's incorporation in 1961. Our product line has consistently applied the best in current technology to the specific needs of broadcasters. From the time of our founder John Cheney's first products in the early 1960s, Comrex has had a long tradition of providing a very down-to-earth answer to a universal broadcast need - bringing high quality audio into the studio from virtually anywhere, economically, at a moment's notice. Our quest to provide reliable, high quality broadcast equipment began with the introduction of the Frequency Extender, followed by ISDN codecs in the early 1990s and POTS codecs in 1996. Knowing that telephones have always been essential to live broadcasting, we launched our complete line-up of digital hybrids including a studio telephone access center in 2004, putting our customers in control of their talk shows and call-ins with great sound. Our next step in the evolution of audio transportation over existing, available services was the development of BRIC ( Broadcast Reliable Internet Codec ) technology, representing a change that is both desirable and inevitable for remote broadcasting. When people ask if we still own ourselves, we are pleased to answer YES! Comrex can be distinguished from many of its competitors in that it has no outside ownership demands. Because of this, we have the luxury of having to answer only to ourselves and our customers. We take pride in our reputation for doing what's right - both in terms of equipment design and customer support. Comrex stands behind our products. We promise that if you call us for technical and/or sales support, you will talk directly with someone who knows about the equipment and will do everything possible to help.
