History
The Health Center was founded as the Falmouth Free Clinic, an all-volunteer clinic caring for uninsured adults. Services were provided by volunteer physicians, nurses, counselors and lay people. The organization has evolved since then in response to the community's need for affordable, high quality, comprehensive services. In 2008, CHC opened its primary location in Mashpee, and completed a major expansion in 2012 and 2015. This included a dental clinic, on-site pharmacy to provide access to low-cost medications, ultra-sound and x-ray services, walk-in care, affordable optometry, and nutrition education services were added to the continuum of care. Today, we are a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center, providing access to health care for children, adults and families. We welcome patients with MassHealth, Medicare, Commonwealth Care, new federal plans, private insurance or no insurance at all. CHC has locations in Mashpee, Falmouth, Bourne, Sandwich, and Centerville.
