Clougherty Pool
In the summer months, this outdoor pool is in use by residents of all ages. The pool is equipped with a deep end and diving board as well as a shallow end. A few trees around the pool, and in the surrounding park, provide shade and a lovely spot for a picnic. The Clougherty Pool is a part of the sprawling Doherty Park. It's managed by the city and the Boston Center for Youth and Families. It was dedicated by Mayor Curley on August 14, 1949. And it was built for $425,000 as the result of a grant from the George Robert White Fund. With the demise of Dewey Beach there was no swimming place on that part of the town.
