History
Located on an upland plain above the Connecticut River in western Hatfield and Whately, Massachusetts, Chestnut Hill Tree Farm is dedicated to the sustainable production of forest, nursery and agricultural products. The entire property is protected by a conservation restriction, keeping the property in conservation for perpetuity. Historically known as the Swift Plantation, the farm produced tobacco on 80 open acres. Over the past thirty years, nursery stock and Christmas trees were grown. Currently, Christmas trees and greens, Balsam fir nursery stock and hay are produced in addition to cordwood and timber products.
