History
The Central Cafe is the oldest cafe in Middleboro. The first customers to walk through the door did so in 1923. The comfortable booths wear the patina of age. The handsome mahogany bar with chestnut rail was purchased by the former owner Angelo Doscoulias' father in Boston for his son's new Middleboro establishment over 70 years ago. The exterior of the new cafe was remodeled in 1997 to create an Irish pub-style entrance that hints at the informal atmosphere of a neighborhood bar from another era. Sometimes the prices seem reminiscent of another time as well. The Central's famous cheese pizza - a long time staple of post-event celebrations for local little league team members and spectators alike.
