In 1926 the Centerville-Osterville- Marstons Mills fire department came together to serve the residents and businesses of the 21.6 square mile fire district, the largest and second busiest in town, and has two fire houses. One fire house is located on 28 in Centerville and the other is located on Main Street in Osterville.
Like its counterparts, it has a selectman style governance separate from the town municipality, provides many of the same services including water, response to spills, leaks, electrical problems and downed wires, rescue services and accident response, well being checks, lockouts, lock ins and educational programming plus its firefighting duties.
In addition to these services, it sponsors a kids day with the other four fire districts and the Barnstable police.
