The West Parish Garden Cemetery is one of the few garden cemeteries in the state, surrounded by stone walls with a triumphal arc at its entrance. This 50-acre cemetery is non-denominational and provides for a variety of grave plots as well as a specific area for the resting of cremated remains. Visitors can explore the gardens, with mature Hydrangea plantings and Sugar Maple trees among the many lawns and wooded paths throughout the cemetery. The cemetery was founded in 1692 and was expanded in 1908 by textile industrialist William Wood, of Andover. The West Parish Garden Cemetery is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The entrance is located across the street from the West Parish Church.
