Started in 1982 by Barbara Carr and Sheila Connolly, the Carter Center for Children is licensed by the state, operates as a non-profit under the Needham Board of Health and provides individualized care for kids based on their emotional, intellectual and developmental needs. Scholarships are available, children with disabilities are welcome and toilet training can be provided in conjunction with parental help. Daily activities include quiet time, puzzle time, outside play and art, science and language classes.
