The Bristol County Sheriff's Department houses approximately 1,100 men and women in several different facilities. Its main north Dartmouth facility houses men and women who are sentenced or awaiting trial and detainees who are in deportation proceeding with the Immigration and Naturalization Service. Its women's center houses more than 100 women in a separate facility, which also provides a separate wing for the residential substance abuse treatment unit and a pre-release program. The Bristol County Sheriff's department offers services, such as educational, work, or self-improvement programs, house and sober house placements, medical appointments, substance abuse counseling, anger management counseling, job skills and placement services and vocational training. It is located in North Dartmouth, Mass.
