Center for Community Health
The Center for Community Health, Education, and Research (CCHER) is a dedicated organization with over 26 years of experience advocating for the right to healthcare and providing essential social, health, behavioral, and prevention services to clients and their families in Dorchester Center, MA. As a sub-recipient of a grant funded by the National REACH Coalition (NRC), CCHER collaborates with the Haitian community to strategically implement and evaluate healthy eating and active living initiatives, aiming to eliminate racial and ethnic health disparities in chronic diseases. Through their Community Leadership Team (CLT), CCHER takes action by selecting public health strategies to raise awareness about healthy lifestyles among the larger Haitian community. CCHER is proud to be one of the 15 sub-recipient grantees funded by the National REACH Coalition, joining forces to make a positive impact. Their commitment to promoting systemic changes for a healthy community is evident through their efforts in advocating for public health equity and offering programs like the Public Health Equity Young Scholars Summer Enrichment Program, which provides under-represented students with opportunities to explore careers in public health. With a focus on mental health and immigrant health, CCHER continues to support and empower individuals through their hands-on programs and collaborations with various organizations and institutions.Generated from the website
