The Boston Centers for Youth & Families is a human service agency, which provides educational, recreational, social and cultural programs at more than 45 facilities across the city. Its centers offer a wide variety of activities, such as after-school tutoring, computer lessons, fitness programs, field trips, theater and art classes. Its streetworker program helps youth and their families gain access to various health and social services, including drug and alcohol abuse prevention, food, clothing, shelter and employment. The agency s camp joy plan is a therapeutic recreation program for physically handicapped, behaviorally involved, cognitively delayed, learning-disabled and preschool special-needs children. Located in Roxbury Crossing, Mass., the agency also publishes a guide to help the residents in finding out the programs, activities and services available to them across Boston.
