Hidden on the second floor at 705 Centre Street, this rare-book treasure trove specializes in hard-to-find scholarly volumes of all types. Boston Book Company is best known for its exhaustive collection of books on Japan and East Asia, but it also boasts first editions of 19th- and 20th-century British and American literature. Antique children's books, prints and photography are also available. Customers are encouraged to browse and make themselves at home among the stacks of books. The slightly more mainstream Boston Book Annex in Brookline is its sister company.
