We started as a antique furniture and related accessory restoration workshop with the goal of providing quality craftsmanship and service. We've grown a bit larger, but the goal has remained the same.
Specialties
In May of 1999, The Barn at 17 was formed in collaboration with Blackstone Furniture Restorers. We carry over 10,000 square feet of distinctive antiques and accessories in our warehouse showroom, with on-site restoration services. Located in an old carriage barn in Somerville, we are just minutes from Boston. The Barn at 17 was founded by veteran antique dealers Dan McAuliffe and Jerry Freeman. Jerry Freeman brings his expertise in all phases of furniture and decoration. He started his career as a display director at Shreve, Crump and Low, Filenes and R.H. Stearns before working in visual merchandising at Tiffany & Co. in Manhattan. After returning to Boston, Jerry opened his own business in Brookline and Boston. Dan McAuliffe, respected antique furniture restorer for over 25 years, owns and operates Blackstone Furniture Restorers, a five man repair shop specializing in all manner of antique furniture restoration including modifications and special finishes.
