Described as a "quiet oasis tucked in the heart of Beverly's downtown," Beverly Common is adjacent to Montserrat College of Art and the Beverly Public Library, at the Dane and Essex Street intersection.
The Beverly Common, which historically was used as a training ground during the Revolutionary War, is a grassy park area with benches, a gazebo (where concerts are held during the summer), and flower gardens.
In 1998-1999 the Common underwent a renovation to include brand new park benches, street lights, and wheelchair accessible walkways.
