Located in the heart of historic Beacon Hill, Beacon House offers affordable housing for Boston elders. The complext offers 85 rent-subsidized and 32 rent-moderated apartments for persons age 55 and over. Amenities include seven apartments that are fully adapted for wheelchairs, as well as week-day lunch for a small additional cost, elevators, a roof deck, atrium, community room, library and on-site laundry facilities for all residents. A computer lab is also available, and there are professional classes offered to residents, as well. Beacon House is located within short distance to shopping centers, a grocery store, the public library, several banks and Mass General Hospital.
