History
Founded in 1957 by the Crocker family to honor their father's dream, Applewild ever since has retained a palpable sense of family and community. As the school has grown and prospered, it has maintained its emphasis on effective partnership with parents and individual relationships based on mutual trust and respect. We focus intentionally on children ages 3 - 15, believing that students this age are enthusiastic learners who prosper within a safe environment in which adults know them well, have high expectations for them, and inspire them. Our graduates are frequently mainstays of their secondary school instrumental, choral or drama groups or sports teams in addition to excelling in academics; and many are leaders in their communities.
