For any issues involving your pet or wildlife, the Animal Control Department is the place to turn. The department offers services, such as an annual rabies vaccination program for pets. But it is also a great informational resource, providing, for example, lists of approved animal shelters, low-cost spraying/neutering services and dog-friendly City parks.
Lost and found pet notices may be posted to their webpage. The department's Animal Adoption program also posts photos of pets in need of new homes. Dog bites should also be reported to Animal Control.
As for wild animals, their webpage offers tips on dealing with everything from bats to coyotes. Wildlife suspected of having rabies should also be reported to the department (do not approach a sick animal).
Report animal control problems any time, 24/7, by simply dialing "311", the City's constituent services line. The office is located in the DPW building.
