History
Adams Montessori School (formerly the Montessori School of Quincy) is located in Quincy, Massachusetts near the city center in the historic Adams district. Since its founding in the 1970's, our school has earned a reputation on the South Shore for high-quality education and a nurturing environment based on the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori. In 1969 the Columbine Sisters started the school in Hyde Park. With a vision for a special place, a group of dedicated families assumed the operation of the school located at the time in a small church in Hyde Park in 1976. It remained a parent run school and for many decades before relocating to Milton. The school was incorporated (originally as the Montessori School for Early Learning) and a Board of Directors was established in 1993. In 1996, Dominique Mouthon became the director of this school then located at Temple Shalom in Milton.
