History
Adams Automatic Transmission started out as a gas station and general repair shop in 1952. Located on busy Old Colony Avenue in South Boston, Wilbur Adams served not only the needs of the South Boston community, but the many commuters traveling from the suburbs to downtown Boston and surrounding areas as well. His two sons Walter and John helped their father run the business. Both were certified auto mechanics and decided to specialize in the transmission field as well as general auto repair. Through the years Adams Automatic Transmission built a reputation as a fair, honest repair facility with very reasonable prices. In 2013, John and Walter retired from the automotive repair business; turning the Adams legacy over to their most trusted employee of over thirty years, Dennis Pukt. Adams Transmission has since moved from South Boston to their new location in Hyde Park.
