The Annapolis station of the U.S. Coast Guard was built in 1972. The station patrols and responds to calls in the area north to the Magothy River and south to Chesapeake Beach. The fleet consists of a 41-foot and three 25-foot response boats. The station is kept busy in the summer and fall, especially during the U.S. Naval Academy graduation events and the Annapolis boat shows when there are a lot of people out on the water.
