The Fisher House program is a private-public partnership that is dedicated to supporting America's military. The Fisher House Foundation donates "comfort homes," on military bases and VA medical centers for the many members of the military and their families who are stationed worldwide and often must often travel for specialized medical care. The comfort homes allow family members to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for illness, disease or injury without incurring any lodging expense. There is at least one Fisher House at every major military medical center and more than 12,000 families are assisted each year. The Fisher House Foundation also provides scholarships for military children and co-sponsors the Newman's Own Award.
