After sailing around the world with his black lab/boxer mix for sixteen years, Captain Robert Douglas returned to his home on Martha's Vineyard. He established a tavern, The Black Dog, which eventually grew into a restaurant, bakery and general store. The Black Dog is now in Annapolis, as part of the extension of the chain into major sailing capitals of the country. The store features durable, sporty clothing for men, women and kids, accessories for dogs and housewares, all featuring the famous "black dog" logo. Annapolitans, both seafaring and landlubbers, even power boaters, love the look and feel of Black Dog clothing. And of course, all dogs, black or otherwise, are welcome in the store.
