Founded in 1950, The Arc of Baltimore, formerly known as the Baltimore Association for Retarded Citizens, is a nonprofit organization that offers a range of community-based support services to more than 3,000 men, women and children in Baltimore County in Maryland. It works with a team of over 700 full- and part-time employees. The organization provides services at nearly facilities and approximately 100 residential sites in the Baltimore metropolitan area. The Arc of Baltimore s programs include vocational training, medical day care, and landscape and janitorial employment services. It also offers respite assistance, individual and family support, and residential care and foster care solutions. The organization organizes several recreational, camping and leisure activities. The Arc of Baltimore maintains a family and children division.
