Let There Be Rock Schools is a performance-based music facility that provides instruction to students ages five to adult. One of three locations, the Columbia facility is staffed by recording artists, performers and producers, among other professionals, who instruct students in the basic techniques of such traditional rock instruments as guitars, bass and drums, as well as vocals. Students are formed into rock bands based on age and ability, with the opportunity to perform three cover songs and one original song in front of live audiences every 12 weeks, whether as opening acts for local bands or national bands like Poison and Mötley Crüe, or as headliners in front of local residents and peers.
