Scarecrow Press, a member of the Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group, is known for publishing scholarly bibliographies, historical dictionaries, library science monographs and reference works in the humanities, particularly music and film. The company is also broadening this list to include textbooks in library and information science, handbooks and reference tools for librarians and a greater scope of materials in music. Scarecrow books have appeared in many languages and are distributed nationwide by National Book Network. Scarecrow Press moved to Lanham, Md., in 1995 from its original headquarters in Metuchen, N.J., where it started business more than 50 years ago.
