Operational since 1896, the Volunteers of America is a nonprofit, faith-based organization that coordinates various human service programs. Its programs include housing and health care services. The organization serves more than 2 million people that include at-risk youths, elderly citizens, abused and neglected children, and disabled and homeless individuals in over 400 communities throughout the United States.
