Paralyzed Veterans of America
Established in 1946, Paralyzed Veterans of America is a congressionally chartered veteran s service organization. Its appellate services program includes service connected compensation, home health care, clothing allowances and adapted housing services. Paralyzed Veterans of America also provides field service program that includes training, support and management services for senior adults with disabilities. Additionally, it offers medical services for spinal cord injury and other diseases. The organization arranges various sports and recreation programs, including wheelchair games, shooting, billiards, boating, fishing and motor sports for paralyzed veterans. Paralyzed Veterans of America publishes journals on various topics, such as accessible home design, respiratory and bladder management and spinal cord injury. The organization is located in Washington, D.C.
