History
Incorporated in 2006, the Nonprofit Village began to explore possible rental spaces throughout the county, while organizational leadership surveyed nonprofit organizations in the county to learn more about the specific needs of potential tenants. Ultimately, our focus narrowed to provide space to be used for nonprofit administration and training programs offered by our tenants. In 2008, we identified the unique opportunity for the rental of space in the Jewish Council for the Aging building in Rockville. A 10,000 square foot space on the second floor was ideally situated to allow for a combination of offices and stand-alone workstations, filling the need for affordable space for very small and emerging nonprofits. Opened in 2009, the Nonprofit Village offers free parking, offices and workstations for 20 onsite tenants and five virtual tenants.
