Located in Baltimore, Mount Saint Joseph is a private, Catholic, college preparatory school for young men sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers. Founded in 1876 it serves more than 1,000 students in grades nine through 12. It offers various honors programs in English, foreign languages, mathematics, science and social studies. It also offers advanced placement courses in biology, environmental science, chemistry, drawing and English literature. Additionally, the high school offers the DePaul Program that is designed for college-bound students with specifically diagnosed and mild learning and language disabilities, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and other language-related difficulties. Its provides a wide variety of athletic activities, including cross country, football, soccer, volleyball, water polo, basketball, ice hockey, track and field, swimming, wrestling baseball, lacrosse, golf and tennis. The high school is approved by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore and the Maryland State Department of Education.
